Hello friends, I want to start by saying that I am not trying to impose
anything! Rather, I am looking for a solution that will satisfy as many
people as possible. I didn't know that the word deuterocanonical could
displease some people. On the contrary, it seemed to me that he was more
"neutral" , that is to say that since he means second canon, this did
not at all imply that he was recognized as inspired. So everyone can
consider it inspired or not... In the French ecumenical TOB translation,
that's how it is understood. As I said, I am not trying to impose my
ideas. But on the other hand I don't think that it doesn't matter since
it concerns the Word of God for me it does, even if this is not the
place to debate it. Here are some suggestions. The first that seems best
to me is to do as before in Bishop: we write nothing! and it is simply
the versification that defines the books. So as Protestants read
Protestant Bibles they simply won't read the Deuterocanonical ones! and
Catholics will have Catholic versification and they will be happy to
read the Bible that the Fathers of the Church read! in this proposal I
find the idea of colors very good. As you have already done Troy, we
could put the deuterocanonical with a more pronounced color even red,
which would warn the Protestant who has lost his way in a Catholic
versification: be careful these books are not inspired. (allow a little
humor, I do it without judgment because I love you all ;)). Or we can
simply translate with the two words Apocrypha/deuterocanonical. Now if
everyone is happy with my reading of the word deuterocanonical, then
that would simplify the matter. In any case, I am very grateful for your
work, especially to you, my Protestant brothers, who are so zealous in
sharing the Word that saves.
